Neograft The process
Hair is harvested
During your hair transplant session with Dr Anh, the NeoGraft® machine will be used to extract hair follicles from the donor area, which is located at the back or side of the head. Individual grafts are then extracted.
Grafts are transplanted
Grafts are then implanted in the balding area individually, at the right angle, as this produces the best results. This particular approach does take more time but the results are almost always better.
Transplanted hair regrows
New, healthy hair will start to grow without any signs that it’s been transplanted. Patients will see their new hairline within a week, and can expect to enjoy a fuller head of hair after about 3 to 4 months.

Dr Anh Nguyen is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Western Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr Anh is committed to teaching and training the next generation of plastic surgeons and devotes a day a week to her consultant role in the public health system at Fiona Stanley hospital. Fue vs fut Follicular Unit Extraction vs Follicular Unit Transplant
What is FUE?
FUE means the donor hair is removed one group of follicles at a time with no cutting no stitches and no line of scarring. There is commonly very little if not no pain afterwards. FUE leaves only tiny white dots that are hard to see in the donor area so your hair can be cut short down to No. 1 or 2 with no visible scars.
What is FUT?
FUT, the traditional way of harvesting follicles, involves removing a horizontal strip of skin, about 1 cm wide from the back and suturing it closed.
FUT can leave a horizontal white line or scar that usually varies from 1mm to 3mm in width.
Why Should I Choose FUE Over FUT?
FUE is less invasive than the FUT method. FUE for many patients is preferred over FUT as it doesn’t leave any scarring and can result in less pain after the treatment. They also prefer FUE as the treatment time can be reduced (FUT procedures can last the entire day and this can deter some patients).

Am I a suitable candidate for a NeoGraft Hair Transplant
The NeoGraft system is suited to all hair types, including coarse and curly hair. Even if you don’t have a sufficient amount of hair at the back of your head, you can still qualify for this procedure. Patients should also be in good health and have any serious medical conditions to be considered for this treatment.
Does the NeoGraft Hair Transplant procedure hurt?
During the procedure, there will be little to no discomfort and since no stitches or staples will be required, patients are free to return to work the very next day if need be. However, spending an extra day or two is usually recommended.
Will a NeoGraft Hair Transplant stop hair loss?
It should be noted that even though NeoGraft can fill in balding or thinning areas on the scalp, it won’t address the underlying reason for the hair loss. Hormones, excess stress, age and genetics can all play a role in hair loss. It’s highly recommended that you determine the underlying cause of hair loss before you pursue a hair loss treatment.
How do I care for my hair after the treatment?
If you do want to get a haircut, it’s best to wait until at least two weeks after your transplant procedure. Dr Anh will also help you choose products that will nourish and strengthen your transplanted hair.
Can I get another NeoGraft Hair Transplant done?
If you find that you need a second NeoGraft session, you will need to wait at least 6 – 8 months before you can schedule another treatment.
